My family and I have been going to Gayle's Bakery for years upon years and the quality is still excellent in both the bakery and deli. We love the pastries, sandwiches and cakes, everything is delicious. It is a bit pricey, however, but it is worth it for special occasions!

The food here is incredible! Super delicious with lots of options for everyone. I love the style of service here, you get a ticket, and when your ticket is called you select the items you would like on your plate, than you pay for it at the cash register. The deserts and pastries here are also incredible! I really like this place. Although it is quite pricey... would recommend either way!

What a wonderful place! We found this bakery when looking for a dessert place in Capitola. Ended up having a meal :) Great selection of pastries (unfortunately no vegan options) and premade food, bakery items, etc. Make sure you get a number at the door. Nice area to sit and enjoy your meal.

It is in its own class! Great tasting varieties with wide selections. From cakes pastries coffee and even cooked meals you can get many things here. You may need to take a serial number and wait for your turn to come. That makes sense because it is a popular place. All the people who serve customers here are super friendly and nice. They will speak to you with a smiling faces. The ambiance is upbeat with some old school charm. Has a fireplace in the sitting area.

Super fun place to eat because there are so many options to try. The Marionberry pie was just sweet enough. Roasted tomato ficelle (clothespin thin, foot-long sandwich) was addicting to eat and gone in a flash. Loved the special porchetta sandwich I had today. Very herby and delicious. The chicken salad on croissant was also great. Key lime pie was perfect and could not be improved. Line is long but well-managed by friendly workers. Can’t wait to return to try more goodies.

Beautiful Lunch and Bakery! A unique gem of Capitola. Come for their delicious lunch/ deli food and also try their cakes and pastries. Service is efficient and outstanding. They can help you with all their food choices. Good variety of salads, sandwiches, hot food, and more. They also have a cafe for more choices. Nice dinning area on a beautiful day. Come back to try many of their other dishes and sweets. Parking can be challenging. If you want a healthy fresh lunch, don't miss this place.

GREAT FOOD, AIN’T CHEAP but everything is top notch. There is a reason why the lines are so long and the place is always packed. It’s all about great tasting, home cooked food. You can taste the butter in all their baked goods. All the salads and baked goods purchased were AMAZING. You owe it to yourself to give it a try!

Anytime I’m near HWY 1 in Santa Cruz County, I stop here to get a lunch picnic, dinner for later, and daily made sweets. They have a ticket dispenser to get served, so make sure you start with that upon entering. There are so many employees, so the line moves quickly. My favorites are chicken tarragon croissant sandwiches and the bear claws.
